CBSX is a Regulation-NMS compliant facility of CBOE. CBSX trades NYSE and Nasdaq-listed securities and is connected to DTCC for clearing. CBOE members that wish to have direct access to CBSX must complete a short-form Application.
Firms and/or individuals, who are not CBOE members that desire to have direct access to CBSX are required to complete a Permit Holder application. A CBSX Permit holder must be a registered U.S. broker-dealer.
For firms who would like to become a registered U.S. broker-dealer, CBSX is offering Regulatory oversight as a Designated Examining Authority (DEA) for proprietary-only trading firms who are also CBSX Trading Permit holders. Firms that do not have customer accounts would qualify for these services while applying for a CBSX Trading Permit.
