Steps to Be a CBOE Stock Exchange Remote Market Maker (RMM)
A. Membership
1. Complete the Non-CBOE Member Organization Permit Holder Application. Contact the CBOE Membership Department or members@cboe.com to obtain the Permit Holder Application.
2. CBOE Member will obtain the U-4 for the designated Responsible Person(s) (Item 7 on the Non-CBOE Member Organization Permit Holder Application). One of the Responsible Persons must be fingerprinted, unless the individual has been fingerprinted in the last 12 months. Contact CBOE Membership members@cboe.com for the fingerprinting process if necessary.
3. Each Responsible Person(s) must submit a signed CBSX Individual Consent to Jurisdiction for CBSX requires this form from the individual signing the Application, if different from the Responsible Person(s).
4. Provide CBOE Membership Department a completed Clearing Member Connectivity Guarantee to Membership.
B. Connectivity
1. Establish access to the API website by registering through the http://systems.cboe.com/UserAdmin/Register.aspx
2. Connect to CBOEdirect. Specific instructions are located at http://systems.cboe.com/publish/SystemsAPISite/Howtoconnect.pdf
3. Download and submit worksheet A to api@cboe.com to request a test connection. (Not necessary if you are using a CBSX certified software vendor.)
4. Successfully test firm application in CBSX test environment following the applicable CBSX test plans.
5. Submit a production connection request by completing worksheet B,C, or E.
C. Stock Selection for RMM
1. Contact Market Quality Assurance, Allison Kile, 312-786-7210 to provide the list of stocks you intend to make markets in as an RMM. Market Quality Assurance will notify you when trading may begin.
